Candidate Bio: Heidi Eakin currently serves as the Director of Learning and Engagement and Head of Borrowing Services and Assessment at Colgate University Libraries. Specializing in access services, copyright, and fair use issues, outreach, and library assessment, she leads initiatives that focus on student-centric services. Her research interests are around exploring the concept of the 'library as place,' including space planning and enhancing user engagement and experience. Committed to creating inclusive environments, Heidi excels at transforming libraries into vibrant spaces that encourage participation and bridge the gap between traditional roles and modern needs of the campus community. She holds a BA in Art History from Skidmore College and an MLIS from the University of Pittsburgh. Secretary - Meghan LenahanElectronic Resources Librarian at Binghamton University Libraries
Candidate Bio: Meghan has worked in a variety of libraries for 2 decades, including academic libraries. She is currently the Electronic Resources Librarian for Acquisitions at Binghamton University.
Director - Corinne LeoneDirector for Correctional Library Services at NYS Department of Correction Candidate Bio: In August 2016, Corinne Leone was appointed to be the Director of Correctional Library Services. She has many responsibilities, but most importantly, management of NYS Department of Correction and Community Supervision’s 45 General & 45 Law Libraries. In January 2007, Director Leone began her career in corrections as the Senior Librarian at Gowanda Correctional Facility. Director Leone holds a master’s degree in library information science (MLIS) from the University of Buffalo and in 2015, obtained an Administrative Degree from Long Island University. Also, in 2015 she was named Women in Corrections Woman of the Year, for the Wende Hub. She has collaborated with many of the staff and developed great programs like the Book Showdown and a Modified Legal Research Course. Corinne is a breast cancer survivor and advocate for the Susan G. Komen Foundation and one of the top fundraisers in Western New York. She is also the Deputy Mayor in her hometown. She shares Mark Twain’s belief that those who can read and don’t have little over those who can’t. |
