The 2026 New York State Legislative Session will arrive before we know it. #LAD26 will be held on February 3, 2026, with Pre-Advocacy Day on February 2, 2026. Registration is required for Pre-Advocacy Day attendance. Stay tuned for hotel accommodations, Pre-Advocacy Day registration form, and all other materials to prepare for #LAD26!

Description: This presentation highlights a new information literacy tutorial developed for New York libraries, emphasizing the identification and use of artificial intelligence as crucial knowledge for an informed citizenry. By pro-actively sharing and refining these resources, NY libraries can tailor the tutorial to meet the specific needs of their communities.

Description: In this workshop, we will consider how patron expectations have been reshaped over the past 20 years, and briefly touch on boundary-setting and constructive confrontation techniques to assist staff with navigating challenging patron transactions, both in the moment and afterwards. Learn tips on how to move on from uncomfortable conversations and gain insight on how to coach others to do the same, in order to raise the service game of your organization.
